I'm not allowed to sing

You definitely won't see me on American Idol try-outs anytime, but I do love to sing. Singing is therapeutic for me and I love when a particular song really captures my mood.

Evidently, my children don't appreciate my vocal expressions.

First, it started out with Shaggy. If she didn't want me to sing, she'd start to whine at me or even cry. Then it progressed to shouting, "NO Momma!! NoooOOOoooOOOoooooo!"

Little M had to jump on the band wagon. I'm barely able to squawk out a phrase or two before he demands, "No Momma! Stop! Stop singing!"

We're working on using "nice talk" so I have been trying to teach him to say, "Momma, please don't sing right now."

Oh the irony of having to teach my child how to politely tell me to shut my pie hole.

OMG - have the kids been talking to Elias? I have 2 freakin' degrees in opera and he won't let me sing. ;) He started out with jut a simple, "No," which quickly changed to, "Stop, Momma, stop singing! You don't sing!" It humbled me pretty quickly! ;)

I am laughing so hard. I can not carry a tune at all. Both of my kids have always said "oh mom don't" when they hear me singing LOL.
